My family and I love ❤️ celebrating and taking part in those Fun, Bizarre, & National Days. You can print out your monthly calendar and put it on your fridge, in your car, or in your planner. Oh, and we may also spotlight a great, LOCAL event as well!
We have also provided ideas on how to spend each Fun Day. You can enjoy these National Days without the stress of having to plan it all.
February is also National Heart Month, National Black History Month, and National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Ways to Celebrate!
February 1 - National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day
Maybe you want to go all out for this one, but we are going frozen yogurt! I can't wait to try these Breakfast Banana Splits with my kiddos (and they look yummy for adults too)! You could also just add your favorite ice cream to your waffles.
February 2- Groundhog Day
Legend has it, of course, that if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, it’s six more weeks of winter weather. If he doesn’t? Good weather is right around the corner.
So what will it be this year? Only the groundhog knows.
February 4- Homemade Soup Day

February 5- World Nutella Day - Nutella is a sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread that is popularly consumed in breakfasts and desserts around the world. Here are some super-easy, but fun recipes using the popular spread.

February 6- National Frozen Yogurt Day- What? Frozen yogurt twice in one week? Maybe a good reason to splurge a visit your favorite local fro-yo shop!
February 7- National Bubble Gum Day-What's your go-to gum?
February 9- National Pizza Day- Hands down mine and my family's favorite food. I think we could eat pizza three times a week if we could. Special shout-out to one of our favorite local pizzerias, Jiggy Ray's in Downtown Elizabethton. They are a proud sponsor of our Macaroni Kid Birthday Club and my husband and me LOVE their Itappalachian Meat Mountain pizza and the kids LOVE their pretzels with cheese app.
February 12-14 - Chocolate Fest in Downtown Jonesborough- Spend this Valentine’s weekend at Chocolate Fest, hosted by Jonesborough Area Merchants & Service Association (JAMSA). Come taste some delicious chocolate treats provided by area merchants and restaurants. There will be endless options— everything from barks, fudges, chocolate-covered strawberries and so much more! Tickets are redeemable at Chocolate Tasting Locations throughout downtown where one ticket equals one chocolate treats.

February 14- Happy Valentine's Day- The day of hearts, chocolate, friendship and love. This week and next week, Macaroni Kid Tri-Cities is full of Valentine's Day ideas, crafts, recipes and more. Here is one of my favorites! Also, still have candy canes leftover from Christmas, here's some clever heart ideas with those leftover canes!
February 20- National Love Your Pet Day- There are so many fun ways to celebrate this day.
- If the weather is nice, why not visit your local park or trail and take a walk with your pet.
- If the weather is not so great, why not make some homemade goodies for your bet. With Sweet Potato Day around the corner, here's a homemade sweet potato pet treat recipe!
- Why not visit the animals that are still looking for their forever homes on this day. Visit your local animal shelter or humane society and take one of their animals on a walk or take a donation.

February 26- Tell A Fairy Tale Day- Gotta plug our amazing local libraries for this one. What a great opportunity to visit your local library's storytime or check out a classic fairy tale and read it together with your kids at bedtime.
February 27- National Strawberry Day- There are so many ways to celebrate this day! I would love for you to share your favorite use of the strawberry!
