By Amanda Hollifield, Publisher Mom, tricities.macaronikid.com January 22, 2020

What are some great ways to start 2021 off right? It's always fun to find a new tradition. My family and I love ❤️ celebrating and taking part in those Fun, Bizarre, & National Days. But usually, by the time we find out what the Fun Day is, it's too late to really get into the spirit. That's why my daughter, Grace, created your go-to Fun Days Calendar. You can print out your monthly calendar and put it on your fridge, in your car, or in your planner. Oh, and we may also spotlight a great, LOCAL event as well!

We may also provide ideas for how to spend each Fun Day. Now, whether you want to celebrate National Compliment Day, or splurge on some delicious, decadent, chocolate cake on National Chocolate Cake Day, you can enjoy these National Days without the stress of having to plan it all.

Finally, we want to see your fun days! Follow us on Instagram HERE. Tag us in your posts and use our special hashtag: #MKTriFunDays

Have fun celebrating your favorite Fun Days!

Ways to Celebrate!

January 8- National Bubble Bath Day

Baths are one of the oldest and most relaxing methods of cleansing our bodies and what could be more natural?

Yet, baths offer so much more! Baths are a natural method to warm the extremities; a natural soother of sore muscles; a natural way to moisturize dry skin.   You can splurge and support a local shop and purchase a bubble bath product or bath bomb.   Pinterest (of course) has several fun, easy bath bomb recipes for kids.  Here's one to try.

January 9- Law Enforcement Day

What a great way to show love and appreciation to our men in Blue!  Get your kids involved in this act of kindness.   You can make and take cards, donuts, sweet treats, or other small gifts of appreciation for the work and sacrifice our police offers do every day to protect us.

January 11- National Vision Board Day

With all the craziness of last year, vision boards were probably hard to accomplish, but let's start anew in 2021!  Check out this article on creating your family's vision board!

January 13- National Sticker Day

January 14- Dress Up Your Pet Day

Okay, don't think you have to go out and spend a lot of $$ on an outfit for your pet, but if you do, definitely check out local shops like Tennessee Tails Pet Boutique in downtown Jonesborough!

January 15- Strawberry Ice Cream Day

January 18- MLK Day

While many in-person events have been canceled for MLK Day, there are still several ways you can celebrate the meaning of this day with your family.  Check out this article for ways to celebrate.  Please disregard the events as this article is from 2020.

January 19- National Popcorn Day

You can simple pop a bag at home and enjoy or try some of these fun recipes for a twist on popcorn!

January 22- National Library Shelfie Day

Okay, so at the time of publishing, our local libraries are still closed to the public, BUT you can a selfie outside of the library with your favorite book promoting your library's curbside pick-up or just take a selfie at home with your favorite book!

January 23 - National Pie Day

January 24- National Compliment Day

Come on guys, we don't need a specific day to give someone a compliment, do we?!  What is the best compliment you have received?  Here are some ideas specifically for your kiddos.

January 27- National Chocolate Cake Day

January 31- National Hot Chocolate Day

I love making Slow Cooker Hot Cocoa in the wintertime on a Saturday or Sunday morning and just sip on it all day. I found this twist on Pinterest and would love to try Mexican Hot Cocoa. I may also get inspired to add some "peppermint powder" from my leftover Christmas candy canes.
