Spirit Riding Free Premiers This Friday, May 5 on Netflix

Our Macaroni Kid Exclusive Sponsored Screening Party Review

Do you remember the nights of watching quality, family television? I remember growing up watching the classic TGIF television shows and classic animated cartoons. Today, I am constantly checking on my 9 and 5-year-olds shows; yes, even shows on so-called children's networks to make sure they are age-appropriate for my children. In my opinion, we have become too loose on what we allow our kids to be exposed to, especially on television and in the movies.

DreamWorks new series Spirit Riding Free is a breath of fresh air for parents looking for quality television for their entire family. When is the last time you sat down to watch a television show with your children that entertained all, made you laugh, and left you cheering on the main characters to the credits? Spirit Riding Free provided that for our family in just the first two episodes!

The audience is able to emotionally connect immediately to the main character, Lucky. Within the first two episodes, Lucky is faced with many life lessons our children are faced with on a daily basis; moving to a new city, starting a new school, finding true friendship, acts of kindness, confidence, obedience and yes, even discipline. I love that Spirit Riding Free reinforces life lessons my husband and I try to teach our kids on a daily basis and I believe will inspire young people from all walks of life.

In a small Western town, spunky ex-city girl Lucky forms a tight bond with a wild horse named Spirit, while having adventures with her best pals Pru and Abigail. DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free centers on a group of three friends, who together experience coming of age and the power of friendship. Lucky, a gutsy 12-year-old girl, befriends a wild mustang she names Spirit. With her two best friends, Abigail and Pru, and their horses by her side, they explore a world filled with endless rides and never ending fun. Together they’ll push their own limits and discover what it truly means to be free.

A big thank you to The Real to Reel Theater in Johnson City for hosting our exclusive screening party and to the eleven families who participated in our Spirit Riding Free party! @R2RMovies
