Before you even head out, there are things you can do to be better prepared.
- Make sure you have a full tank of gas
- Check your tire pressure
- Charge your phone completely
Use the checklist below to get your car kit ready for anything this winter has for us.
- Shovel
- Jumper cables
- Tool kit
- Wool Blankets
- Mittens, gloves, socks and hats
- Non-perishable foods like crackers, beef jerky, granola bars, nuts and dried fruit
- Bottles of water (in a sealed bag)
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Ice scraper and a snow brush
- First aid kit
- Inflated spare tire, wheel wrench and jack
- Bag of salt for tire traction; sand or kitty litter work as well
- Flares or reflective triangles
- Tire chains
- Matches in a waterproof container
- Toilet Paper
- Baby wipes
And don't forget a survival kit for your kiddos!
- Coloring books and crayons
- Glow sticks
- Small photo album to create conversation about fun memories
- Word find book or crossword puzzle book
- Juice boxes
